Basics

     Slender Man:  He is always seen wearing a gray or black business suit with a grey or red tie and white undershirt.  He is normally between 6 and 15 feet tall, depending on who you talk to.  He is normally very thin, hairless, and pale.  Not to mention His lack of facial features.  It is said that he can stretch/lengthen any part of His body and change His height at will.  He can also extend black tentacles out of his back and change his fingers/hands into tentacles as well.  Some say it is to induce fear and ensnare prey.  It is also said He can "Slenderwalk", or teleport, so long as He is not being observed.  He has used this technique in several ARGs such as TribeTwelve, MarbleHornets, and once or twice in M's The Tutorial.  Some believe He can jump back and forth through time.  An example of this can be seen in most ARGs where people have been 'moved', or 'Slenderwalked' to a different location. 

     History:  Slender Man was apparently created on SomethingAwful forums but can be traced all the way back to cave paintings that date back to 9000 BC.  He is then later seen in Ancient Egypt during  Pharaoh Wazner's reign and later then during the mid-sixteenth century in German woodcutter Hans Freckenberg carvings of Der Ritter, or The Knight.  Slender Man sightings have increased dramatically during the Twentieth Century seeming due to the easier access to information. 

     The Sickness:  Reported signs of "Slender Sickness" are,

- Coughing
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Paranoia
- Coughing/throwing up blood 
- Bloody nose(s)
- Inability to sleep
- Extreme exhaustion
- A cold feeling
- Dehydration
- Urge to tape self
- Camera/electronic malfunctions
- Amnesia
- Sleepwalking

     Speculations:  There are several explanations to Slendy's existence.  The first is that, of course, He was created on SomethingAwful forums and is nothing more that a myth.  Another is that He's real and has existed before SomethingAwful.  Another is that the more you research/fear/believe in Him, the closer He gets to you.  And yet another states a very scientifical reason to His existence that I am not going to bother trying to explain. 

     My Theory - So Far:  Is that He is the being that keeps the human population in its place.  He has existed since we have, maybe we created Him, maybe we didn't.  Maybe it's what Sandra said and the stories Mothers tell Children really came to life.  All I know is that SomethingAwful didn't create the Slender Man, they only gave Him a new name and a whole lotta new victims. 

     Another Thought...   That just came to me is that he WAS created by SomethingAwful and He somehow time traveled back in time here and there for a snack to two.  This would explain why pictures of Him didn't appear immediately and why He was more 'active' at some points in time more than others.  This theory is very far-fetched though and is just something to think on.  I doubt this is true anyways, just a thought.

     This blog IS indeed going to be about Slender Man.  No it is not going to be an ARG (Artificial  Reality Game).  This blog is going to be a pool of information for those who are just curious or actually are being chased by Slendy.  This of course is only the introduction, if you don't feel like reading this then jump to the next post.  I will most likely forget several things about Him that I will hopefully post in later entries or in the comments.  This blog will consist of SM's history, the ARGs, the blogs, and other discoveries of Him.  I will not post everything all at once mostly because I've yet to read all of the blogs and watch all the ARGs.  I will do my best to post at least once a week and answer questions as soon as possible.  I will follow the blogs as I finish them and eventually make a post about each of them.
